Computer Running Slow?

A slow computer does not automatically mean it has a virus or needs replacement. We identify whether the delay comes from software, storage, memory, heat, updates, or aging hardware.

Try these first

Safe checks you can do now

  1. Restart it if it has been running for several days.
  2. Close programs and browser tabs you are not using.
  3. Check whether an update is actively installing.
  4. Confirm the main drive is not nearly full.
  5. Avoid “cleaner” apps and alarming pop-ups promising an instant fix.
Pause if something feels wrong.

Do not call a number in a pop-up, share a verification code, or install unfamiliar remote-access software.

What we actually do

A focused appointment for this problem

We begin with the symptoms, check likely causes, and explain what we find in plain language.

  • Review startup and background activity
  • Check storage health, memory use, and updates
  • Remove unnecessary software with your approval
  • Scan for unwanted or malicious software
  • Explain whether repair, upgrade, or replacement makes sense

Remote access, explained

You remain in control.

Access starts only after you approve it. You can watch every step and terminate the connection. Unattended access is removed afterward unless separately authorized.

We never ask for gift cards or cryptocurrency.

We do not manufacture security problems or require software purchases without your approval.

Questions people ask

Slow computer FAQs

Can you speed up my computer remotely?

Often, yes. Software, startup, update, browser, and storage-space problems can usually be diagnosed remotely. We will tell you if hands-on hardware service is needed.

Does slowness mean a virus?

No. Malware is one possibility, but updates, low storage, limited memory, heat, and aging hardware are also common causes.

When should I replace it?

Replacement may make sense when it cannot run supported software, has several failing components, or an upgrade costs too much for its remaining useful life.
